CEO’ Desk

Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in India and is home to more than 20 Crore people, 6 Crore of who are poor. While the number of Public health facilities are adequate enough to cater these population, the overall health outcome is mixed in progress.

In order to improve overall health condition of poor and needy patients, State government of Uttar Pradesh has adopted the vision of Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing health insurance cover to financially burdened people and their family members.

In line to this, our Hon. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as launched the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna on 23th September, 2018 from Gorakhpur. With the launch of this most ambitious health protection scheme, UP will give cover to more than 1.18 Crore eligible families which is equivalent to almost 6 Crore individuals in the state. The scheme will provide complete cashless treatment to families whose names are covered under SECC 2011 data.

These beneficiaries will have an overall coverage of Rs. 5 Lakh per year per family. Which means they will now be able to afford their healthcare needs without fearing about enormous costs related to it. More than 1350 packages under AB – PM JAY will provide all kind of Medical, Surgical and Day care treatment including medicines, diagnostics & transport. Diseases like Cancer, Heart ailments and knee transplant which are earlier impossible for these patients is now free at public hospitals as well as empanelled private healthcare facilities.

We have empanelled more than 1500 hospitals under AB – PM JAY, out of which more than 60% hospitals are private providers. This also means that getting treatments at high-end tertiary care hospitals will come at no cost to eligible beneficiaries.
